A Unique Partnership in Preserving History
The National Museum of the Marine Corps is the result of a unique public–private partnership between the United States Marine Corps and the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation (MCHF). The Foundation raised the funds to build the Museum and continues to support its growth through education, preservation, and outreach programs beyond what government resources alone can provide, while the United States Marine Corps manages the exhibits, collections, and daily operations. Together, this partnership ensures the story of America’s Marines is preserved and shared with future generations, inspiring pride, scholarship, and understanding of the Corps’ legacy.
Celebrating 250 Years of Marine Corps Excellence in 2025
In 2025, the United States Marine Corps will mark its 250th anniversary—a monumental milestone in our nation’s history. The Marine Corps Heritage Foundation is proud to lead a year-long campaign to honor the legacy of the Corps. From its founding in 1775 to the present day, the Marine Corps has exemplified Honor, Courage, and Commitment in defense of our nation.
The Marine 250 campaign will feature national and local events, educational programs, and special exhibits that highlight the rich history, traditions, and values of the Marine Corps. This historic celebration aims to engage communities across the country and inspire the next generation of Marines and citizens alike.
