The Corporal Willhite & “Lucky” Sherman Tank Reunion, held August 15–16, 2025, at the National Museum of the Marine Corps, commemorated the remarkable World War II service of Cpl. Robert Willhite and the iconic Sherman tank known as “Lucky.” The reunion brought together history, remembrance, and storytelling as visitors learned about the tank’s role in combat and the Marines who operated it. Through personal connections, preserved artifacts, and shared memories, the event highlighted the lasting legacy of World War II Marines and the importance of preserving their stories for future generations.
