Happy Father’s Day. My Staff asked if I could put together what a “perfect Father’s Day” would look like for me. That turned out to be much harder than I thought it would be. There are so many things I would love to do . . . put my kayak in the water early in the morning for a nice quiet paddle on the Potomac; tee off at my favorite golf course; go for a pleasant ride on my 2003 Road King Harley Davidson on Skyline Drive . . . and the list goes on. But, in reality, with all of the deployments and missed holidays and missed “special events” over my career, I think my very favorite thing to do on this Father’s Day would be to spend it with my family; my beautiful wife of 40+ years and my daughter and her amazing family. I have 4 incredible grandchildren that I love spending time with. They are smart, funny, energetic, and just fun to be around. So, whatever YOUR perfect Father’s Day looks like, I hope it turns out exactly as you wish it would. From all of us at the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, Happy Father’s Day!
