This past weekend, the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation proudly partnered with the World Equestrian Center (WEC) in Ocala, Florida, for Armed Services Night, a spectacular evening dedicated to honoring the 250th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps. This unforgettable event blended the thrilling sport of show jumping with a deep appreciation for the service and sacrifice of our nation’s Marines.
The evening was centered around the $200,000 Armed Services Grand Prix CSI4*, an elite international competition featuring top equestrians. But before the competition kicked off, the event paid tribute to the Marine Corps in several powerful ways, immersing attendees in the history and legacy of the Corps.
"Armed Services Night was one to remember!" wrote the World Equestrian Center in their event recap. "We joined the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation in celebrating 250 years of the United States Marine Corps with the U.S. Marine Corps Color Guard, Caisson Horses, an epic parachute display, and a live national anthem by country star Chris McNeil—all before the $200,000 Grand Prix CSI4."* (Read more here.)
Throughout the night, elements of the Marine 250 campaign were on full display, reinforcing the mission of this once-in-a-lifetime anniversary celebration.
The World Equestrian Center’s commitment to celebrating the Marine Corps' 250th anniversary was evident throughout the night. From heartfelt tributes to powerful displays of Marine Corps excellence, the event was a fitting reminder of 250 years of service, sacrifice, and commitment.
"It was an honor to be a part of such a meaningful event," the World Equestrian Center stated in their article. "From the presentation of colors to the parachute display and cake-cutting ceremony, every detail was crafted to recognize the dedication and bravery of our service members." (Read more here.)
As the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation continues to spread the message of Marine Corps 250 across the nation, partnerships like this ensure that the rich history and lasting impact of the Corps remain at the forefront of American culture.
The program provides digital resources to communities, organizations, and civic leaders nationwide, enabling them to host their own local Marine Corps birthday celebrations. Each kit will include materials such as event graphics, cake-cutting protocol guidelines, and a brief history of the Marine Corps birthday, making it easy to participate in the nationwide celebration.
Thank you to World Equestrian Center – Ocala for an incredible night, and to all who attended and supported this special tribute to the United States Marine Corps. Stay tuned for more Marine 250 events as we continue celebrating this historic milestone across the country!
