Marine Tribute Bike on Display at NMMC

May 09, 2014

Triangle, VA – The Marine Corps Tribute Bike, built by a father and his friends as a tribute to his fallen son, is on display at the National Museum of the Marine Corps through May 30, 2014.  The bike, which is designed to resemble a Marine in Dress Blues, was built by Lawrence Tremblay in honor of his son Cpl. Joseph Tremblay and all those who have lost their lives during the global war on terrorism.

“The Marine Tribute Bike was built for one, dedicated to a few and in honor of all who have fallen defending our great nation. My son Joey and I used to spend time together watching Jessie James on the Discovery Channel and the Biker Build Offs. We both enjoyed and admired the skill and talent it took to build a motorcycle so I thought this would be a great monument to the son I so love and miss,” Tremblay says.

The Tribute Bike has images of Cpl. Tremblay and three other Marines who were killed in action with him.  It also features numerous Marine Corps items, most noticeably the sword issued to non-commissioned officers.

The National Museum of the Marine Corps is located at 18900 Jefferson Davis Highway in Triangle, VA and is open 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily except Christmas Day.  Admission and parking are free.  For more information, call 703 784-6107 or visit on the web at
