Wednesday, August 10 Summer Concert Series — U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters
Come join us for a summer evening of great music!

We welcome back to our Summer Concert Series, the United States Navy Band Sea Chanter's, the Navy's official chorus.

The ensemble performs a variety of music ranging from traditional choral music, including sea chanteys and patriotic fare, to opera, Broadway, and contemporary music.

The concert is outdoors on the Museum's entry plaza. Bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets to sit on. Concessions will be available.

The Museum, Museum Store and Tun Tavern will remain open until 7pm.
 
Free Admission. Free Parking.

Saturday, August 13 Family Day — Aviation
The birth of aviation allowed Marines to move about the world rapidly. Learn about Marine Corps aviation. Participate in hands-on activities that explore the world of flight.

Sunday, August 21 History in Your Hands — Aviation
HIYH is a program for visitors of all ages who are blind or have low vision. HIYH is an opportunity to interact with the collections through tactile exploration of selected objects, and through verbal description, tactile graphics, and other materials for artifacts that cannot be touched. Trained Museum volunteers and Visitor Services staff lead these events. There is no fee for this program, but pre-registration is required. Registration for the monthly program closes 1 week prior to the event. Thursday, August 25 Summer Concert Series — Quantico Marine Corps Band
Come join us for a summer evening of great music!

Performing at our final concert of the summer is the Quantico Marine Corps Band. The Quantico Marine Corps Band has performed during our summer concert series every year since 2010!

Established in 1918, the Quantico Marine Corps Band is one of the oldest professional musical ensembles in the Marine Corps. Under the operational control of the Commander, National Capital Region/Marine Corps Base Quantico, the unit is comprised of active duty Marines who, upon completion of demanding military and musical training, are selected to perform as musical ambassadors of America’s premier military force.

Saturday, August 27 Special Event — "Dog Days of Summer" Event
The National Museum of the Marine Corps' annual event to highlight the service of dogs and other animals in the Marine Corps. Local animal rescue groups and veteran service dog organizations will also be on-hand to share their mission with visitors.
